Bleh

I think this game can only go so far and then the rest is all up to Lady Luck. No matter how good you are at games, there are times when there's a wall of huge asteroids that block your way and the only way through is to fly through them, which is usually fatal.

*leaves in a huff*

Sorry... I think if you only lose when it gets truly impossible, that means you win. :-/

WarioWare anyone!?

According to your highscore list, I could have gotten 3rd with 126 seconds! (I really don't think 59 seconds for 1st is possible >.>) Games like these really turn me on. You're number one on my top list of games! (and of all the flashes I've reviewed you scored the highest in interactivity so far)

Many of your microgames are fairly similar to each other (more so than WW) and we could use a little bit more diversity. Also, I think you got the guy going the wrong way in "avoid stomp" one xD Other than that, I don't really have any complaints. In fact, it's actually better than WW in the one aspect that all the microgames don't look like NES style and stuff (not that I hate it, but it's just less appealing to me.)

I'll let you peeps on a little tip for the high score =P When you see the "Don't Touch" game, fail it as fast as possible!! (by touching the keys, duh!)

Too many glitches!

While it's fun to tell your guys to do sadistic things, there's far too many glitches/exploits/technicalities in the game.

-Some people will randomly sink into the earth and go back and forth like they're spazzing out or something (then eventually die.)
-At higher speed settings, it's possible for people to climb cliffs they otherwise couldn't climb.
-There doesn't seem to be a "stop" function, even if an action would normally provoke them to stop (such as falling a significant distance when digging earth). An improvised method was to demote the freak.
-If you killed off someone and they leave behind a corpse next to where Senines would be, you could opt to retry, then select the panning tool and cause an "earthquake". The corpse from earlier will pick up the Senines for you!
-Time runs independently from the game until you either fail or finish.
-The speed of the people doing tasks isn't affected by the adjustable speed, while regular walking is affected.
-The physics engine needs tweaking in general, since by shaking the screen, I've managed to get someone inside the cavern in the first level (I've failed much more often than I succeeded though =/.)

While the game is looking good so far, I refuse to play it all the way through due to so many gameplay issues.

Hey, that was a really good review. I can tell you spent some serious time putting this thing through the ringer. Most of the stuff you've mentioned has been fixed in the version awaiting NG staff review. Check it out on my site (see my profile) to see the improved version right away. The new version lets you pan using the arrow keys, has shortcuts built into the 1,2, and 3 keys for quick skill assigning, stops the main timer when it should, lets you press "p" to pause and check out a level at your leisure, lets you press 0 and then click a troop to return him to normal walking, and cleans up a lot of the panning issues that plagued my earlier version. The corpses collecting senines was a bug I deliberately left in because I think it's kinda cool.

Please check it out on my site and email me your thoughts: info @ bomtoons .com

I bet n00bs complained it was too hard...

Ultra easy mode, in my book, is "no brainer" mode. But even then, I thought the male vehusus (mispelled?) at chapter's conclusion required some thought and strategy (mastication is good for you =P).

I thought it a little odd how the main character would just poke the monsters and they would just disintegrate or something. Maybe add variety by having a down-stroke swipe, or at least make it more realistic. Also, sometimes I'm prone to randomly hitting space during cut-scenes (hey, it's a game and I gotta do something) and missing some text which only showed for about .05 seconds. Maybe you can try to add in text that types itself, and if the player wants, it'll show all of it by pressing space, just like many of the games including Final Fantasy and Tales of Phantasia (besides, it adds flavor to the game.)

I'm not sure what you plan to have in the entire series, but including currency of some sort is a critical element in any rpq type game, of which to say the initial chapter didn't seem very rpq-ish (just like virtually any other flash I've found, but this one more so), and maybe a shop or something where you can replenish your items and rest, as to avoid a "rushing" feeling where you have to keep moving (note that lvl 5 is the max lvl, which means after achieving that lvl you cannot instantly replenish yourself by lvling)

I'm not too enthusiastic in the storyline itself, but the graphics are quite something to look at. Maybe you'll catch my interest with chapter 2.

This flash is a rich horror story!

You had me jump reflexively a few times, but nothing that would send me in chills. Sorry =(

Compounded with the first Exmortis, this game has a great story, fairly straight-foward even though it seems cryptic at first. Even after all is played through and made clear, there's still many questions yet to be answered. This gives a real arcane nature to the Cult that you've described, and I appluad you for it =D (Kingdom Hearts also has a bunch of this about the Heartless going around, at least until the 2nd game I guess)

Although your graphics were great, sometimes in a few areas it just seems like smear and a bit too .jpeg-ish. Also, while I understand that the text in the game is meant to give an enriched environment of dread, I sorta got bored after reading 48 pages of the diary, let alone Xavier Rehayem's book, the news articles, the missing 4 pages from the diary, and the scriptures that Vlaew left behind. The sudoku puzzle was also probably very stupid to put in since it doesn't seem to fit in with the horror theme, even though it's the easiest one I've done yet (and I flew right through it =P)

All in all, great job with most psychological elements!! By the way, in the end, I would have asked to live longer, then be granted a quick death later (which I wouldn't call a gift, but whatever.)

Yet another mouse avoider

I liked the wall graphics, yet that's virtually the only good thing I can think of to set this game aside from the others. The frame rate needs to be smooth; I've had good fun skipping through walls and roaming around outside the level =P Also, the action scripting needs tinkering as well as some of the moving obstacles. I'm going to guess as a n00b that you caused collision detection to be checking whether the mouse is within a wall picture or something... bad idea.

A nice start with short-lived gaming

This game doesn't have much lasting value to it, mainly because it can be fairly linear in a sense as well as the lack of missions and building options. It's also not too difficult as long as you know what you're doing (missiles are for wusses in mission 4 =P)

I suppose it's actually a better experience to play without turret sounds and exploding vehicles if you enjoy the music, but it's mainly dependent on people's tastes. I just happened to like the selections, except the "Battlefield" song seems to fit better for dreary or slow medieval battles... I dunno...

So much fun having a turret that does instant pwnage =D Keep working on the game, and maybe I'll add it to one of my favorites in the future.

A taste of China's best flash!!

In normal mode, the monkey at the end ate up 40 grenades!!!! H*** FKING $|-|1T!!! Then again I guess the regular bosses in Metal Slug series take that much abuse too...

A few buttons seem to be broken, and I don't know whether this is from complexities of uni-scripting or whatever it's called (universal 1's and 0's as to avoid incompatibility issues dealing with languages) but it would be great if they worked, especially the girl character. As for gameplay issues, hard mode is just freakin ridiculous without continues, and I have yet to finish it -_-. Also, I would like to play additional stages, but this doesn't detract from your score (fyi, top button is credits, bottom is playing from title screen). Another thing, I noticed that you still got points even if you didn't have any prisoners or grenades left. One last issue is that the pistol is actually better than the machine gun in the flash game as long as you don't minde pressing the shoot button really fast, which I'm sure most of us are quite capable of doing, and it's absurd. (oh yeah, I didn't see the shotgun, but I'm sure it'll come up later...)

As for you peeps that think this is Japanese, most the kanji characters means the same as the hanzi (mispelled?) characters from China. Thus, it looks Japanese, but Japanese language is made from simpler hiragana characters, which there are none to be found in this game. If it was Japanese, then you'd see a very simple-looking character occasionally (other than that dash character in the end, which normally means "1"). In truth, Japan borrowed its writings mainly from China.

Anyways, great game, enjoyed it, and had a blast!!!

eh?

I think you need to look at the escaped zombie percentage formula, because I know for sure .13% for 7 escaped and 37 killed isn't right. The zombies in the hills far away are too fast.

As a little note, I did this game without sound since I'm past my bed time =P

This game has leftover beta stuffz

In the cave, after the conveyor belts, thwomp thingies, and the door after that, I jumped and immediately went right to the hills. Then I got to the part in the hills where there were so many cracked floors that my comp ran hella slow and I fell right through (yes I got your warning) and I went into an endless fall. Also, there was an exploit where you could press the menu button and avoid all harm, whether it is standing on spikes, on a conveyor belt, or on a non-existant cracked floor.

Other than those, I like the fact that I can play a basic good ol' platform game once in a while =)

Eh? What you want?
